Anna and Eric Wessling live in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. They love to spend time outdoors, kayaking, fishing and camping. Over the last two years, Anna has taken that love of outdoors and started her own small business – Wessling Gardens.
Through her business, Anna provides garden maintenance services to residential and commercial properties. Those services include annual plantings, weeding, deadheading, pruning and more to keep gardens happy and healthy.
“I love being able to work outdoors and enjoy the beauty of God’s creation.” Anna said of her business.
Anna traveled to Haiti with World Wide Village as part of a team from Renovation Church in Blaine, MN. Her team traveled in February of 2020, right before the world shut down for the pandemic. While in Haiti she learned of the struggles that the people in Williamson and Luly face. Those struggles included mothers and babies with little access to healthcare.
After giving birth to her first child earlier this year, Anna understood more clearly the importance of the newly established Healthy Mothers + Healthy Babies program in Haiti.
“I birthed my first child (Eddie) this past January, and during my pregnancy I recognized the importance of having good pre and postnatal care. I remember hearing some of the heartbreaking stories surrounding pregnancy and childbirth during my time in Haiti, and I am so grateful to see a program like Healthy Mothers + Healthy Babies become established to help come alongside mothers, so they aren’t alone and don’t have to consider the last resort options during a sometimes fearful time.”
It’s wonderful to see the journey on which God has taken Anna. First, God helped her overcome her fears to travel to Haiti. Then the world was shaken by a pandemic which led to Anna starting a new business – Wessling Gardens.
God then blessed she and her husband with the birth of their first baby, when she experienced the importance of medical care.
God used those experiences to continue His work in Haiti by leading Anna and her husband to join the Cornerstone Club.
They now give generously each month to the Healthy Mothers + Healthy Babies program through Wessling Gardens.
Together, they are helping provide mothers and babies with medical care and the love of Christ.
