Oldina Constant loved cooking with her mother as she was growing up. Her home always smelled delicious and her family often entertained others. When Oldina’s mother died in 2016 she was taken in by her aunt and uncle in Luly, Haiti.
Oldina comes from a very large extended family. When she moved in with her aunt and uncle she instantly had eight new brothers and sisters! Plus, her uncle is a pastor so their whole church body is like extended family.
Over the last six years since her mother’s death she has attended countless weddings, baptisms, and other holiday celebrations.
In Haiti these milestones are a reason to celebrate, and what better way to celebrate than with good food!
Now that Oldina has graduated she plans to attend cooking school where she can learn to cater events like weddings and other celebrations.
Having finished Philo (final year of secondary school), she believes she has the skills to run her own catering business and is excited for the future.
She is so thankful for sponsorship that gave her the opportunity to attend school after she lost her mother.
Oldina hopes to someday cook a feast for her sponsor as a thank you!
