PRAY FOR HAITI

Join us in praying for the people and country of Haiti each week. Ask God to intervene on behalf of a country facing uncertainty, violence and turmoil. As Haiti continues to struggle, pray that God would do what might look impossible – bring peace and justice. Bondye kapab – God is able!

“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21

STAFF MEMBERS

Today, ask God to strengthen our Haitian staff members by giving them wisdom, patience, and joy in their work each day. Ask God to encourage their hearts and help them trust God as He shapes their steps and makes their paths steady.

Proverbs 16:3

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

YOUTH BIBLE CLUBS

Today, lift up every child and teen attending Youth Bible Clubs. Thank God for drawing them into a place where they can learn, grow and experience His love. Ask God to open their hearts to understand who Jesus is and how deeply He loves them. May they come to know Jesus personally as their Lord and Savior.

Romans 10:13

“…for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

QUIET STREETS

Today, we pause with grateful hearts and thank God for the peace our area of Haiti has experienced over the past two months. Take a moment today to praise God for quiet streets, children able to attend school, and for families resting with less fear. We know this calm is a gift from His hand. Please pray that God continues to work all across Haiti for peace and justice.

Psalm 34:15-17

“The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to blot out their name from the earth. The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them…”

UPDATE ON JAMIL

Thank you for praying for our staff member, Mr. Jamil. Today we praise God for answered prayers as his health is improving! He is now able to speak (and even laugh) and can stand as well. Learning to live with new limitations from the stroke that affected his left side will not be easy, so please continue to pray that Mr. Jamil would rely on God for strength, peace, and endurance with each new day.

Colossians 1:11

May you be strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience.

JAMIL LUCIEN

If you’ve ever traveled to Haiti with World Wide Village, you may have met Mr. Jamil. Since 2009, he faithfully served with World Wide Village, most recently as our finance manager. Jamil retired in December, and in January he suffered a major stroke. He is now at home, being lovingly cared for by his family. Please join us in praying for Jamil and his loved ones during this difficult season. Ask God to bring healing and peace to Jamil, and strength, patience, and encouragement to those caring for him each day. Today, we also give thanks that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and walks with us through every hardship.

Psalm 34:18

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

WWV LEADERSHIP

Please lift up World Wide Village leadership, both in the U.S. and in Haiti. As we step into 2026, ask God to grant them wisdom in every decision, clarity in moments of uncertainty and courage to follow wherever God may lead. Ask God to guide their steps each and every day.

Psalm 32:8

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

THOSE WHO THIRST

Written on the well house in Haiti are the words of Jesus from John 7:37 – “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.” Today, lift up the people of Haiti and ask God to satisfy every thirsty soul. Ask God to pour out His strength where there is weariness, His hope where there is despair, and His peace where there is fear. Pray that all who are thirsty—physically and spiritually—would come to Jesus and drink deeply of His grace.

John 7:37-38

On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”

AGAPE VICTORY CHURCH

Today, thank God for planting Agape Victory Church in the community of Bail-Savanette, like a light on the mountainside of Haiti. Ask God to strengthen the believers who gather there, and let His Word take deep root in every heart. Pray that God would empower the pastors with courage and shine His hope into the community and draw many to Jesus.

Matthew 5:14

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

TEACHERS IN HAITI

Today, please lift up the teachers of Haiti. Ask God to strengthen them when resources are scarce and give them hope in the Lord when the challenges feel too heavy. Pray that God would surround them with His protection and peace.

Isaiah 40:31

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

SCHOOL DOORS

Please pray for each precious student who enters the doors of our schools. Pray that as they cross the threshold, they would feel surrounded by love and care. Ask God to make school a safe place, free from the threat of gang violence. Praise God that even on difficult days, His steadfast love never ceases and His mercies are new each morning as students head to school.

Lamentations 3:22-23

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

BIRTH ATTENDANTS

Today, lift up the birth attendants in rural Haiti who bring new life into the world each day. Ask God to bless their hands with skill, their hearts with compassion, and their minds with wisdom. Pray for their protection as they serve mothers and babies in challenging places, and ask God to let each delivery be covered by His peace and presence. May their work be a reflection of God’s love for every child and family.

Matthew 5:6

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

OVERCOME EVIL

As Haiti continues to struggle with gang violence, poverty, malnutrition and insecurity, pray that the power of the Holy Spirit might overcome the forces of evil. Even though it may seem that darkness is overcoming the light, take time today to praise God for how He continues to work in Haiti. His light is still shining through local believers in Haiti and through those of us who continue to give generously and pray fervently.

John 1:5

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

TRUST OVER FEAR

Two small earthquakes hit Haiti this week. The first registered at 4.1 and the second two days later at 3.0. Praise God that no lives were lost, but these earthquakes and their aftershocks have been upsetting for those who witnessed the devastating losses caused by past earthquakes. This week, lift up those in Haiti who are afraid. Pray that God would keep them from fear as they put their trust in Him. He is their refuge and strength. Also pray that God would spare Haiti from another stronger earthquake that could cause devastation.

Psalm 46:1-3

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling.”

NEW LIFE

Today, praise God for new life in Haiti! Despite the ongoing turmoil, new babies can bring immense joy. At the same time, we understand that for those living in extreme poverty, new life can also bring fear as adding another mouth to feed can be difficult. Ask God to provide for the needs of these new precious babies.

Psalm 139:13-14

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

PEACE FOR CHILDREN

Lord, we ask You to calm children’s hearts in Haiti when they feel afraid, stressed or worried. Living in Haiti can be so difficult. Remind them that You are the God of peace. Make Your presence known as You carry them through trials and challenges.

John 14:27

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

WEDDINGS

Five couples from the church plant in Bail, Haiti are getting married! One way that Christians set themselves apart in Haiti is through marriage – a couple committing before God to love each other through better or worse. These weddings will be a beautiful way to celebrate a couple’s love for each other and their commitment to God. Ask God today to help these couples love one another sacrificially. Pray that God would open their eyes and hearts to understand that they can best love their spouse when they know they are perfectly loved by God.

1 John 4:19

“We love because he first loved us.”

LET US NOT GROW WEARY

Ask God today that He would give you the strength to not grow weary in doing good in Haiti. Even while the situation in Haiti feels hopeless, there will be a harvest to reap if we do not give up. As you pray continually, give generously, and spread the word about God’s work in Haiti, ask God for a harvest!

Galatians 6:9

”And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

JUSTICE

Today, ask God to have mercy on the people of Haiti. Pray that God would scatter the bloodthirsty, shatter the weapons used for violence, and watch over the vulnerable. Ask God to bring true peace and restore justice to Haiti.

Proverbs 21:15

“When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.”

LEADERS

Today, please pray for leaders inside of Haiti and outside of Haiti who can provide solutions for peace in this gang ravaged country. Pray that these leaders would be led by mercy, compassion and wisdom as they deal with the ongoing turmoil and devastation. Pray that they would be governed by love and the desire for peace instead of hatred and fear as they bring solutions to restore Haiti.

1 Timothy 2:1-4

“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

EXTREME POVERTY

Today, thank God that even in times of need, despair and brokenness, He is there. Ask God to put His arms around children and families living in extreme poverty in Haiti so they feel comfort and hope. Ask God to guide those of us who are in a position to help so we can be His hands and feet, upholding the cause of the needy.

Psalm 140:12

“I know that the Lord secures justice for the poor and upholds the cause of the needy.”

ILLNESS

In low-income nations like Haiti, children under five are already at heightened risk for malnutrition, diarrheal diseases, and pneumonia brought on by contaminated water and inadequate shelter. Many displaced children also don’t have access to medicines or clinics if they fall ill. Pray today that God would protect children in Haiti from illness and heal boys and girls who have fallen ill. Ask God to help their little bodies fight off sickness and disease.

Psalm 103:2-3

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases.”

LIGHT OVERCOMES DARKNESS

Today, praise God for light overcoming the darkness in Haiti. Just last week two followers of Haitian Vodou became followers of Jesus Christ as the church in Bail, Haiti continues to share the gospel and spread the good news!

John 1:5

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
