In Bail-Savanette, God is writing remarkable stories of transformation through the ministry of Agape Victory Church. Pastor Jean Martin Etienne recently shared one testimony that beautifully captures the heart of what God is doing in this mountain community.
Mr. Dilame, a well-known and respected man in Bail-Savanette, is skilled in construction and spent the past year pouring his energy into helping build the new Agape church. Day after day, as he placed concrete blocks, something unexpected was taking shape—not just a building, but a stirring in his own heart.
While he worked with his hands to raise a house of worship, God was quietly building faith within him. For the first time in his life, he began to experience the presence of God.
Isaiah 7:14 says, “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.”
Immanuel means “God with us.” God came near in the most extraordinary way, arriving as a baby in a manger, exactly what we celebrate during this Christmas season.
And still today, God continues to come near. Often, a person’s first glimpse of “Immanuel—God with us” is through the lives of Christians God places along their path. For Mr. Dilame, that first glimpse came through Pastor Martin and the believers of Agape Victory Church. As he helped construct the church walls, he saw a faith that reached out, welcomed him, and reflected the God who draws close.
Last Sunday, in a moment overflowing with joy, Mr. Dilame and three young boys stepped forward during the altar call and accepted Christ as their Savior. What a beautiful reminder that God is still coming near and transforming hearts.
Thank you for supporting Agape Victory Church on Giving Tuesday and helping make it possible for families in the mountains of Haiti to encounter Immanuel—God with us.
