This month, Kimberlie Stimphot is celebrating her 16th birthday, and there is so much to celebrate!

Kimberlie is a kind and creative young woman who lives in rural Haiti with her parents, one brother, and four sisters.

She dreams of becoming a teacher someday, and if her recent accomplishments are any indication, she has an incredibly bright future ahead of her.

Kimberlie was chosen to be part of World Wide Village’s sponsorship program at a time when her family was struggling financially. Her parents love their children deeply, but providing school tuition for six children was an enormous challenge.

Sponsorship gave Kimberlie the opportunity to stay in school and continue pursuing her education. And she has made the most of that opportunity! When Kimberlie recently took Haiti’s national 9th grade exam, she earned the highest score of any student in our entire sponsorship program. What an incredible accomplishment!

Kimberlie’s story is a beautiful reminder of why sponsorship matters. A child’s circumstances do not have to determine their future. With the support of a loving family, the opportunity to receive an education, and people willing to invest in her, Kimberlie is already beginning to turn her dreams into reality.

Happy 16th birthday, Kimberlie!

We can’t wait to see where God leads this kind, creative, and hardworking young woman, and we are so thankful for everyone who makes stories like hers possible through sponsorship.
