DAY 1: PEACE AND JUSTICE
As the country of Haiti continues to struggle with major turmoil, ask God to do what looks impossible – bring peace and justice to Haiti. Praise God that He is mighty in power. Bondye kapab – God is able!
“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21
DAY 2: PRAY FOR STUDENTS IN HAITI
Pray for consistency and security in the school environment in Haiti. Ask God to help students resist the temptation to join gangs. Pray that God would instead give them the wisdom and strength to follow His ways.
Proverbs 9:10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.”
DAY 3: PRAY FOR TEACHERS IN HAITI
Ask God to give them safety as they cross dangerous areas on their way to school. Ask God to encourage their weary hearts and give them an eternal perspective as they teach and lead their students.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
DAY 4: PRAY FOR CHILDREN IN HAITI
Pray that children would regularly hear of God’s love for them. Ask God to place people in their lives to share that love – in church, in their families, in their schools. Pray for children to be protected from darkness and to make the decision to follow Christ at an early age.
“But Jesus called them to Him, saying, ‘Let the children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.’” Luke 18:16
DAY 5: PRAY FOR VOCATION
Pray that men and women in Haiti will have access to vocations that offer dignifying work. Pray that this work will provide what they need for their families so they do not have to resort to violence to meet their basic needs.
“But we urge you, brothers, to do this more and more, and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one.” 1 Thessalonians 4:10b-12
DAY 6: PRAY FOR THOSE WHO ARE HUNGRY
Ask God to provide for the daily needs of those who are hungry. Pray that God would touch the hearts of those who are able to help.
“And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19
DAY 7: PRAY FOR SAFETY
Ask God to miraculously protect His people from violence in Haiti. Pray that God would protect their homes and their physical bodies. Also, ask God to strengthen their faith in the Lord when they’re at risk of losing hope.
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:1-2
DAY 8: PRAY FOR PASTORS
Pray for pastors to have a refreshed desire for God’s Word and renewed wisdom from the Holy Spirit. Pray for churches to experience the movement of God as they are led by faithful leaders.
“Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which He obtained with His own blood.” Acts 20:28
DAY 9: PRAY FOR GANG MEMBERS
God tells us to pray for our enemies. Today, pray for members and leaders of gangs in Haiti to encounter Jesus. Pray for their hearts to be transformed in mighty ways like Saul of Tarsus who became the apostle Paul.
“But Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord… “ Acts 9:1-19
DAY 10: PRAY FOR MOTHERS
Today, pray for mothers’ needs to be met as they continually seek to meet the needs of their children and family.
Pray for women to be treated with the value and dignity they have been given by God. Pray for them to seek God in all they do.
“Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” Proverbs 31:25-30
DAY 11: PRAY FOR FATHERS
Pray today for men in Haiti to display strength, courage, and boldness in a Godly manner. May fathers be an extension of God’s grace to their families.
“As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear Him.” – Psalm 103:13
DAY 12: PRAY FOR THOSE WHO FEEL HOPELESS
Pray for God to work through His Church to bring hope to the hopeless. Pray for light to permeate in dark places. Ask God to help His people in Haiti be patient in their tribulation. May we all be constant in prayer!
“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” Romans 12:12
DAY 13: PRAY FOR UNITY AND PEACE
Pray today that believers in Haiti will make every effort to do that which leads to peace. Ask God to give them strength to have one mind and one voice, showing compassion, humility, and loving one another. This will bring glory to God!
“I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.” 1 Corinthians 1:10
DAY 14: LET US NOT GROW WEARY
Ask God today that He would give you the strength to not grow weary in doing good in Haiti. Even while the situation in Haiti feels hopeless, there will be a harvest to reap if we do not give up. As you pray continually, give generously, and spread the word about God’s work in Haiti, ask God for a harvest!
”And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
