HEALTHY MOTHERS + HEALTHY BABIES
We’ve Expanded!
In 2021 the Healthy Mothers + Healthy Babies maternal health program was “birthed” and provided care to over 150 pregnant mothers & their babies. It was a resounding success! Mothers received monthly check-ups by a skilled midwife, prenatal vitamins, nutrition counseling, testing and treatment for common pregnancy-related illnesses and delivery with a midwife.
Since then we have expanded our services so that even more families will have a healthy start!
Current Programs at Sant Sante Espwa
- Prenatal care, postnatal care and safe deliveries for moms and babies.
- HIV and STI testing and treatment referrals.
- Blood Pressure Program to prevent stroke (#1 cause of death in Haiti).
- Children’s Vitamin Program (Vitamin A and Albendazole).
- Health education classes in WWV secondary partner schools.
- Wound care and emergency triage.
