“I feel like I could write a book on our experience in Haiti, but in a nutshell: we saw beautiful things, met beautiful people, and experienced the glory, goodness, and love of our beautiful Savior. Nothing but good things to say about Haiti and the wonderful, welcoming people who call it home, many with faith in God that I pray to have myself.
I learned so much and feel so blessed by being there for just a week. My heart was both broken and grew for the beautiful Haitians who welcomed us into their homes, prayed with us, and cared for us. Reece and I got to meet the child we sponsor for school, we tried goat meat for the first time, and we worshipped alongside those who praised in a different language.”
“If you have the opportunity to meet and serve your brothers and sisters in Christ from other parts of the world, go. They have so much to teach us and show us that we can never learn or see when we’re numbing ourselves with our wealth and conveniences in America. God calls us to a deeper love for His people and Himself, to deeper unity and spirit, building the Church together.” – Kristine Penning (Team Member)
Ephesians 2:19-21 – “Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of His household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone. In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His spirit.”
