Do you believe in miracles? How about miracle plants?
Moringa is a fast-growing bushy tree that grows best in dry, semi-arid places – like Haiti. It packs a lot of nutrition into its unassuming leaves and seeds. Eaten as vegetables or ground into green powder, it contains nine essential amino acids, 27 vitamins, 46 antioxidants, and many minerals.
One tablespoon of Moringa leaf powder contains: 2 grams of protein, 110 percent of the Recommended Daily Allowance of Vitamin A, 16 percent RDA of calcium, 28 percent RDA of Vitamin E, 85 percent RDA Riboflavin, 48 percent RDA of Vitamin C and 10 percent RDA of iron.
It’s a natural multivitamin.
As part of the City on a Hill agricultural pillar, World Wide Village is preparing to start a small Moringa production area and will soon clear and fence in land to protect the young trees from goats.
By adding the powder to school meals, providing it to WWV medical clinic patients and possibly exporting it to health-conscious North Americans, Moringa could provide a source of income to the Williamson community.
Your donation will help bring the “miracle” to Williamson and improve overall health and welfare of families there. Donate to City on a Hill today!
