Elise lives with his mother, father, one older brother and four sisters. His family lives in Luly, a small fishing village along the western coast of Haiti. Elise's dad is a welder but with a failing economy, he doesn't earn enough to send Elise and his siblings to school. Elise hopes to become an engineer someday and can already fix radios, bikes and so much more. His family describes him as intelligent and a hard-working.
