DELPECHE SCHOOL:
Thanks to you – the Delpeche School in the mountains was able to open in October to over 50 students in primary school! Many families depend upon farming in the mountains to earn a living, and Haiti depends upon those farmers for healthy food. Yet these communities in the mountains have very little access to education.
You are providing education to many children in Delpeche who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend school. Thank you for helping break the cycle of illiteracy and poverty in Haiti!
GRADUATES:
Three of our sponsored students who graduated over the summer have made plans to attend college next year! Ruth-Merline, Chrisler, and Isadora all passed the Haitian national exam and will be admitted into UNASMOH University in Saint-Marc, Haiti early next year.
We are so proud of their hard work and perseverance. Please pray for these young adults as they step into this new endeavor in the midst of days filled with uncertainty and fear. Accomplishing their goal of earning a college degree is not impossible thanks to sponsorship, but will still be faced with many hurdles.
MICROGRANTS:
In the past year, World Wide Village has provided microgrants to 24 families, empowering them to launch their own small businesses! Participants in the program have benefited from training, guidance, and financial backing.
Visit worldwidevillage.org/microgrants for a closer look at the experiences of several families who are part of this program. It is only through your continued support that these opportunities are made possible. Thank you!
EMERGENCY NEEDS:
Your generosity over the last three weeks has provided critical food to hundreds of children in Haiti. Right now, you are truly a lifeline to people during a very desperate time. We really can’t say thank you enough.
“It gives me hope to know we have people to count on. I don’t have enough words to say thank you. Your help is priceless.”
Pictured below are just a handful of the children who have received funds to purchase food for their families who are currently displaced. A special thanks to everyone who has gone above and beyond by giving so generously. We are grateful!
