Meet Esther Fadiouna Pierre, affectionately known as ‘Fafa’ to her family. Esther is growing up in rural Haiti where she loves jumping rope with her two sisters and enjoys ice cream for a treat. She is kind and funny and very dedicated to learning.
Sadly, Esther’s family struggles with poverty. Her younger sister was born with hydrocephalus and much of the family’s income has gone to treating her condition over the years. In many families with chronic health problems in rural Haiti, parents are forced to choose between healthcare and education. Praise God, that was not Esther’s story! Even though her family struggles with poverty, she has never missed time in school.
Seven years ago, when Esther was just three years old, she was chosen by a World Wide Village sponsor. What an amazing gift for a young girl living in rural Haiti!
Esther has gone from a shy 3-year-old who was too scared to have her school picture taken to a confident 10-year-old who loves math and is at the top of her class!

Sponsorship is a wonderful gift. It can give a child the gift of confidence and a brighter future.
Congratulations to Esther for working hard and earning excellent grades. A special thanks to Esther’s sponsor for faithfully giving month after month and year after year to provide Esther with an opportunity to succeed. We’re excited to see what God has in store for Esther as she starts secondary school next year!
You too can change a child’s future in Haiti. Will you consider sponsoring a student today?

This is so wonderful to hear! I was there the day we attempted to get her school picture. Watching her grow up and become the amazing young lady she is has been such a blessing!
