The winners of the 2020 Degajé Challenge are…

Eloise created an abacus toy used for counting, made from pipe cleaners, straws and cheerios. The kids in Haiti loved that her creation was a fun toy, used for education and delicious! Congratulations, Eloise!

Have you ever seen a family of dolls made from recycled bottles? This is Allie’s entry in the Degajé Challenge that tied for 1st place in the older age group. The kids in Haiti loved that she could make an entire family out of bottles!

KYRA – AGE 10!

Kyra’s toy was a favorite for the judges in our group who love sports. This homemade Foosball game was made from skewers, clothespins and a cardboard box. The kids in Haiti thought this game could be hours of fun!

Meet the Judges!

These children joined our World Wide Village staff at the guesthouse to select a winner today. You could just feel the excitement in the room!

The children each voted on their favorite toy in each age category and tallies were made. When the judging was over, winners were announced and each child selected a thank you gift for helping with the contest. What fun!

We are so thankful to everyone who entered the Degajé Challenge. We hope your kids had a blast being creative while doing good in the world. Your donations will be used to bless families in rural Haiti. THANK YOU and congratulations to our winners!

We also invite you to stay up-to-date with COVID-19 in Haiti. As new information seems to be coming out daily, we want to offer you a place where you can stay informed of what’s happening in Haiti and with World Wide Village during this time.
