Our midwife in Haiti recently said that the gratitude of her patients is an inspiration and motivation to continue doing the good work of caring for moms + babies.

Alexson and her husband were thrilled when they found out they were expecting baby #2. There’s no better gift than a Christmas baby due in December!
Like many of the mothers that come to the World Wide Village medical center, Alexon has been so thankful for the care she is receiving. With the major struggles in Haiti right now, it’s been a blessing to know that everything she needs for a healthy pregnancy and delivery are available right in her own community at a very low cost.
The gift of healthcare is something she does not take for granted as accessing prenatal care during her first pregnancy was very difficult. A mother should never have to choose between feeding her family and taking care of her unborn child. Thanks to your generosity, she doesn’t have to make that impossible choice.

“I had no peace of mind,” said Faniess Mercius of her first pregnancy as she suffered from undiagnosed stomach pain. Peace of mind is something that expectant mothers in rural Haiti often do not possess, and rightfully so. Haiti has the highest rate of maternal and infant death in the Western Hemisphere.
Thanks to you, this time around Faniess has been able to access medical care at the WWV medical center, very close to home. Peace of mind is a beautiful gift.

Over the last year, you have provided much-needed maternal healthcare through the Healthy Mothers + Healthy Babies program in Haiti. Over 150 mothers and babies received the care that they needed for a healthy pregnancy and a healthy delivery. Praise God!
